| JOB SUMMARY |
The Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst in the construction industry is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices, subcontractors, and project-related expenses. This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, contract compliance, lien waivers, and subcontractor documentation.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Process high-volume invoices for vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers with accuracy and timeliness
- Review and verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and project budgets
- Ensure proper coding of expenses to jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts
- Manage subcontractor payments, including tracking and collecting lien waivers, insurance certificates, and compliance documents
- Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
- Maintain accurate AP records and ensure proper documentation for audits
- Monitor aging reports and address outstanding liabilities
- Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant construction regulations

- Attend and participate in scheduled meetings.
- Support cross functional team initiatives.
- Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas; Create and develop excellent relationships with key contacts
- Participate in Veritas CARES community events when possible.

| REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS |
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction or a related industry
- Strong knowledge of job costing, subcontractor billing, and construction compliance requirements
- Familiarity with lien waivers, W-9s, and 1099 reporting
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), and with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Construction industry experience is highly preferred due to the complexity of subcontractor management, compliance requirements, and job costing structures
